Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman

Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman

I really enjoyed this book and would definitely recommend it to those that like some fantasy in their life!

One of the things I enjoyed most about this book was that the fantasy world Neil Gaiman creates isn't a complete 180 from the world we live in. Instead, it's still mostly humans with slightly distorted features and personalities. These people have just fallen through a "crack" that made them move from London Above (our real world) to London Below. It still reflects the real world and thus makes the story relatable and almost believable.

Of course, there are creatures that exist in London Below that are just myths in London Above, which gives even more added mystery to the book.

Plus, Gaiman is a gifted writer that keeps you enthralled and reading non-stop until you get to the last bittersweet page. Definitely a great read!

Synopsis: Under the streets of London there's a place most people could never even dream of. A city of monsters and saints, murderers and angels, knights in armour and pale girls in black velvet. This is the city of the people who have fallen between the cracks. Richard Mayhew, a young businessman, is going to find out more than enough about this other London. And a strange destiny awaits him down here, beneath his native city: Neverwhere.
